The Manitoba Maple will occasionally grow with red stains in the grain. The grain colour and patterning can vary drastically from tree to tree as well as within the same specimen. Careful finishing and staining can bring out these grain patterns dramatically with this type of wood. It was very lightly applied here just to bring out the depth of the grain.
