The Ash tree will occasionally form large burls at the base of the tree or on the trunk. The grain colour and patterning can vary drastically from tree to tree as well as within the same specimen. Careful finishing and staining can bring out these grain patterns dramatically with this type of wood. It was applied here as a clear finish to bring out the depth of the grain.
