This is quite a large piece, almost 6' X 8'. It was designed based on a request for a large organic looking tree shape to hang in the entrance hall of a Montessori school. Various pieces of walnut were cut to preserve the natural edges of the branches and trunk. They were then grain matched and assembled to recreate the look of a full grown mature tree in a relief sculpted form. Canadian black walnut and curly maple are the woods used.
